Tháng 10 vừa qua, Elpis club - CLB tiếng Anh của trường đã phát động cuộc thi viết tiếng Anh " Happy Vietnamese Women's Day " nhằm kỉ niệm Ngày Phụ Nữ Việt Nam dành cho toàn thể học sinh trường THPT Phú Quốc. Với chủ đề tri ân những người phụ nữ xung quanh mình, cuộc thi đã được các bạn học sinh đón nhận một cách rất tích cực.

THE MOST WONDERFUL WOMEN IN MY LIFE
If someone asked you about the woman you love, how would you respond? As for me, I will answer without hesitation, that is my dear mother - the greatest and most powerful woman I know. I love her, love the beat of her heart that has given me the life I am today.
My mother is 48 years old this year, the age you can say is not young anymore. My mother doesn't care about her appearance. With shoulder-length black hair, usually tied high in the back. My mother's hair is no longer smooth, black and a bit coarse, mixed with gray hairs, Perhaps it is a trace of the hard days that raised me. Dark skin because of hard labor in the sun for many years with ribbed hands, traces of hard work, more crow's feet in the corner of her eyes. For me, the most beautiful thing in life is my mother's smile. After the stressful days of studying at school, coming home to see my mother's bright smile, it was like a magic potion that relieves me. But I was suddenly sad again because beside those smiles accompanied by deep wrinkles on her face. Because she took care of her family, her health became weaker and weaker but she never cared about her. The moment she said her eyes were no longer clear, I was so tensed . She loved the members of her family sacrificing her health, her youth but there is no complaint. It's great that I have a mother like her.
Mother to me is not only a mother but also a teacher. She taught me everything in this world. Those are sincere teachings, which are not flowery but are always etched in my mind. She has a personality that I really like, that is she never speaks loudly to anyone, the more angry she is, the less she speaks. Perhaps that is the personality of a gentle angel in my heart.
My family doesn't have anything, not even a house to live in. Up to now, having a full life like that is carried by one hand of my mother. Although my family did not have the same conditions as the others, my mother never let me lose to my friends. My mother did everything to take care of me and my family even my mother used to be a fisherman, every day, she have to face with strong sun, strong cold waves, the waves are very dangerous. My mother used to work as a hired laborer and traded her health to earn money, everyday she is cursed by her owner, but she faced those moments by her strong desire to achieve the good things. My mother used to trade on the roadside, had to wake up early every day, she only slept 3 hours a day. Just thinking that way is enough to see how hard she's trying. Probably, There is no hard work that she has never done. And I'm sure, very few women dare to do all that but my mother has never complained even once, she always sacrifices quietly for her family without a complaint. And as you can see, the woman I tell is the person I admire and the hero of my life. For what she has done, she deserves have the world. I really appreciate her effort, patience, and hard work to keep her family happy. She is an indispensable part of my life. When I grow up, I want to be a woman like her. I love my mother very much.
I remember the flood days, my mother carried me on my shoulder to take me to school, she had to wade on many flooded roads and kept telling: "Be careful not to get wet." Right now, as I write this essay, I can't help crying when I remember my memories with my mother.
She always tries to get on well with people who live next door and help everyone when they are in difficulties, so most of them respect and love her. I admire and look up to my mother because she not only brings me up well but also stands by me and gives some help if necessary. For example, when I encounter some difficulties, she will give me some precious advice to help me solve those problems. She has a major influence on me and I hope that I will inherit some of her traits.
To me, she is not only a mother but also a close friend always beside me and comforting every time I fall and giving me more motivation to step firmly on the path that I am pursuing. When I was sick, she suddenly became a playmate so I forgot all the fatigue and helped me get better faster. You won't be able to imagine how wonderful she is.
Although it sometimes seems like she hates me because she scolds me . Recently, I found out that she is only doing those actions out of love for me. Mothers love their children so much, if not more than the love you have for them, they just want the best for you. She has gone through many things before and she wants to protect you from the same mistakes. She is protecting you because she doesn't want to see you hurt. In life everyone will have negative thoughts because of my mother's scolding and I am no exception, but guys, I think now we should understand those scolding, everything is just wanted Good for us, all for our future. That woman always gives us all the good things, but we don't seem to care about it and instead blame them. Remember that you have many friends, but you only have one mother in the world. You will never know behind the wonderful smiles of the great woman there is a wealth of resignation. Speaking of which, have you realized what you forgot? It means that you forgot your mother, take care of her more and say thank you and loving words to them. They can do everything for you, are you sorry for those simple words?
You have heard the saying "The universe is full of miracles, but the warmest one is the mother's heart." That statement is not wrong, there is certainly no place as warm as a mother's heart. She treats me with all the miracles she has even though she is 48 years old, she always loves life and is happy like a child. Because she hid her sadness so that no one would see it. The nights when I stay up late to study, I thought she wouldn't care, but in fact she always worries and watches me all the time without me knowing, every 10 minutes she stands in front of the room to see if Im asleep. I found out when I checked the camera and I cried. Mother is always a cold person on the outside and can be said to be a heartless person but deep inside is a very warm heart. There is a saying that my mother comforted me when I failed the exam at provincial level that I remember forever: “My daughter, you don't have to race against anyone, you're great you know? Even if you fail, remember that I'm always with you and watching you unconditionally”. Up until now, every time I feel helpless in this life, I remember my mother's saying, which motivates me and makes me try harder.
We can not know how long she can live with us, time is running out they are getting old day by day. Give them all your love and attention because they deserve it. Sometimes just those simple things are enough to make them very happy. Every day, pay more attention to her mood, let her cook, talk and talk more lovingly. Time is always quietly passing, will not stop for anyone else, do and cherish while you can.
Unfortunately for children without mothers, it must be the greatest loss for a human being due to the lack of maternal love. But I admire them even more because of their energy because they have overcome the pain. We live in an equality world, everyone has the right to receive mother's love. If I had one wish, I would wish that all the people in this world would receive my mother's love. How you treat your mother will you later receive the same from your child. until later, when you become a mother, you will understand what they are suffering from and give your child the love of a mother.
Any kind of love can fade and die, only motherhood is a sacred and eternal love. Remember there is always a woman behind you watching and wishing you success on your way. Sometimes what we can make her happy is to not tell her about the difficulties we are going through, so that she think less and worry about us because she worries about us too much. And remember that it is not to make your mother cry because that is guilty. Currently, we are still sitting in school and have not done anything to repay our mother's merit, the only thing we can do is study well so that in the future we can graduate from school to find suitable jobs for the future and become a useful citizen for society. And remember that your rate of success should be faster than your mother's aging rate. Sometimes those simple things are what our mother has been waiting for. Words don't show anything, but when I was in 8th grade, I set the goal of being a great doctor, I knew it would be difficult, but with effort will have everything, Is that right? Whenever I think of what my mother has done for me, I always tell myseft to try harder, she will definitely be happy when I succeed in my career. And I will always try to perfect myself to become a wonderful woman like her!
Remember, when you had a mom who always waited for you to come home from school to cook you delicious meals, someone who was always waiting to wash you each shirt, always complaining about what you did wrong. then you are richer than you thought. I hope you appreciate it. Until later. As you work on your own to make money, you will find that the days when you are with your mother, sharing meals with her are the best days. For me, I always cherish every moment of being with my mother. Those are moments that cannot be bought by material means. The mother's merit must only be matched by the sea and the sky, it is vast and deep.
October 20 is the day Vietnamese women send words of love to your mothers, grandmothers and wives and tell them that this feeling will never change. Just saying these simple words is enough to make them happy. they have suffered a lot, let them be princessed for today. Indeed, from the feudal era up to now, the woman has always suffered many disadvantages. They have never enjoyed fairness. Everyone has their own sufferings and difficulties, but it seems that the hardships of women are endless. Fortunately, we are living in a modern world, although women are always at a disadvantage, but the concept of "value men over women" has been removed.
And I want to have a few words to send to my mother: “Mom, today is October 20, is Vietnamese Women's Day, and this essay will be a gift that I send you. If someone asks me about one of the women that I profoundly amire, I will proudly tell them about my sister, Phuong, who meant a lot in my life.
Physically, Phuong is actually an apple of my eye. Why? She has the inner great personality that her looking is benevolent. She has a cute eye although they are not the big double-eyelid eyes, as mentioned, it comes from the within character. The way she walks tells a lot, unlike most girls, my sister’s gait is graceful and full of gentleness that I can learn from her.
Because of those things, it is easy to lead to the fact that Phuong likes light colors (especially pink). So she always wears angel-style clothes which make her look very young and graceful.
Mentally, beside the altruistic at the outside my sister is a person with a beautiful soul. Everything she did or said was according to the teachings of God, she does that because she really has been spending her time and effort to learn the Holy Bible as a true Christian listening to the sermons and reading the Bible regularly. The one thing that she will never stop conveying is “Love never fails". In the past, when someone did something that I didn't like, I would seek revenge against them. Give back twice what they did to me.
When I was in 7th grade, there was a friend in the class that I didn’t like. She was talking sneers to me, so I took reprisal by gossiping and telling my friends to stop playing with her. My sister saw that and told me by explaining carefully to me that “You know, this is not a good thing, and as God says: Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing, that verse from 1 Peter 3: 9 so stop it and be kind to her”. I did as my sister said. Miraculously, the girl I hated that day became my good friend.
Moreover, my sister is a best friend of mine.
She has a very close-knit relationship with me. I can tell her anything that happened at school or secrets that only two people know without doubting.
When there is a problem, I can go ask how to deal with it, and she will give me the best advice because my sister got an enormous amount of knowledge in life, maybe not perfect, but her knowledge was great.
My sister is also a teacher of mine. She taught me a lot of things to become a perfect person. One of them is a princess mindset.
In the past, I was a person who didn’t take care of myself and had very wrong thoughts like becoming a tomboy, getting a tattoo, a love scandal, and more.
After she taught me by her own mistakes in the past, I learnt how to love myself, take care of myself, and not be affected by boys in school. I Have a big source of lessons to have a thrilling life.
In conclusion, my sister is not a perfect person. She still improves to be perfect every day to do a testimony for God. Spread her humble life to everyone. As Jodi Picoult said, “You don’t love someone because they’re perfect, you love them in spite of the fact that they’re not.” I pray that she will be happy everyday and succeed at her university.

HAPPY VIETNAMESE WOMEN'S DAY

According to the tradition every year, october 20 is the Happy Vietnamese Women's Day. That day specifically for Vietnamese women, they will be honored and give many presents from their friends. Wifes can give presents from your husband or your children, girlfriends give from your boyfriend... The present normal is flowers, cards, shoes,... but a bouquet of flowers and  cards with greetings is the most awarded. All the presents on behalf of the sender's heart and affection to the receiver. To me, it is a very meaningful action because women in the world generally speak and Vienamese women in private speak always have certain disadvantages compared with mens. So having a day to be happy is normal and necessary. The first, I want to give a greeting and thank you for their sacrifice to Vietnamese women `` Wishing a very Happy Vietnamese Women's Day to the most amazing women I know ''. And next, I will give my best wishes to the woman I consider the most talented and important woman in my life, it is my mother.
  Dear my MOM,
Mom used to tell me many many times since you were pregnant, giving birth and raising me up, I know mom has had many difficulties. speccaily I still remember that when I was young, I was very naughty to my grandmother and my dad could not stand it because of that. But mom still takes care of me, teaches me everything out life, teaches me how to become a good person. Everything mom did with me I understand. Until today, I dare confide from my heart a very long time to you through that letter. Mom, who a woman I see as a superhero to me, every problem in my house mom can handle. Although she alway has a job outside, she still takes care of her children, take care of her house. Can I say that if the teacher who is teaching me, the doctor who is taking care and helping me to cure my illness, society helps me grow up,... So mom is my world. Many times mom is sad because of my stubbornness, nowadays I just suddenly realized i was wrong. Once time, I make mom the most angry and mom was cried so terrible just because I too messy so my table very dirty, mom reminded me to clean up, but I do not know why I do not listen what mom say, I really angry and shouted loudly at mom, I really stupid I just want to come back the past just say sorry mom. Mom did not talk with me, and I was recognized the error, this night I came to mom, hugged mom and said sorry so mom forgave me. From then on , I alway promised myself that I would not make mom sad and cried again. Today is a HAPPY VIETNAMESE WOMEN'S DAY, I wish mom must be happier, beautiful than your life. To me mom is the best woman.

October 20 is the day for every Vietnamese to remember the woman in their life, that’s our mother, grandma and teachers, if you ask everyone who is the woman you love most, almost people will probably answer mother, but they forgot our lovely grandmother who always take care of us by silently but it’s a meaningful actions, so today I want to say something about my grandmother. She is people who is gave birth to my mother, so I feel very respect her than ever, although she’s old but is extremely skillful, from cooking, baking, sewing were all done by her, I remember one time I went out with my friends, and I have a small accident and my pants are torn, I was worried my mother will scold me, so I kept hiding behind the door, when my grandmother saw that and she ran out, she did not scold me but she helped me to sew the pants, I felt more love my grandmother but time made she have a bad memory, in one time she forgot my name, forgot who is she, that’s make me very sad, but as I get order, I can’t control my feeling, so it’s make me becomes more and more angry because of her memory, and I feel annoyed, in one time I got angry and cursed her, and it continued like that, even things I shouldn’t do with her. Day by day her health weaker. In one day, my family was eating, my grandma suddenly feel tired and she faint, my family worriedly took her to the hospital, and the doctor said she needed to stay in there for a few days. When I got home, I thought she was just tired, so it’s was nothing serious and three days from that day, the doctor called to tell my family to take her to Saigon for treatment, now I had a little bit nervous. But I still think she will get well soon, my parents took her to Saigon, and I stayed at home worrying about her, and thinking about what I did with her before, my tears fell and I promised that when she got home I would hug and kiss her and say sorry to her but it was too late, in the midnight, my parents called me and told my grandmother she got far away from me forever, after hearing my heart is gonna stop beating, my tears could not fall, Was it just a dream, I couldn’t believe that, Untill my grandma was brought home, I would believe it was true, Grandma i’m sorry, if I could be with you more, love you more, say sorry to you sooner, maybe i won’t feel regret now, every year in that day, I always cry and remember my mistakes, remember about our memories, I’m so happy to be your grandchild, However, you “ slept” forever but you still lives in my heart, thank you for being my grandmother, for loving me, I promise to study well and I will love my mother the same as you love her. Through my story, I want to remind you that try to be filial to your parents, love them more, give them good wishes through this October 20th.

Princess Diana once said: “A mother’s arms is comforting than anyone else”. Indeed, we can not deny the fact that the upbringing of mothers are so important in children’s development, from raising them to inculcate morals values to playing a crucial role in their future development.
First, Mother is the strongest role model for the child. From the day a child is born, his first interaction is with his mother. Just like a teacher, he learns from her all of the foundations to grow up: learns to walk and talk. In this way, a child is his mother’s reflection. Besides, mother is also a friend; she spends her time to play with her kids. This is why most of the children want to be like her when they grow up.
Second, a mother helps her child develop moral values by let him know how the world works through his mother. Hence, he learns about love, compassion, forgiveness, humanity, equality, kindheartedness, respect, generosity, and ethics from her. Also, a mother is a combination of emotions which means she is a complete package and indeed the best teacher that a child could have.
Third, a mother is a supporter and motivator who always tries to lend a sympathetic ear to their children when they have problems and. For instance, Thomas Edison, the brilliant inventor of the electric bulb, said his mother was the making of him. From a boy who is considered mentally retarded and expelled from school. She told Edison, “you’re a genius so that the school can’t teach you anymore” and she taught Edison at home. Thanks to his mother’s help and love, he became a talented inventor of the world. Talking about his mother, Edison said she was so sure he would become something in life that he felt he had something to do to excel in life and not disappoint her.
To sum up, the mother’s nurturing plays an important role in human life. Let’s love and help them. The conclusion a quote by Abraham Lincoln, the eminent lawyer and America’s president, said, “All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother.”

As you can see, in my previous essay I mentioned the greatest woman of my life. More specifically, that greatness manifests through the upbringing. She was the one who guided and taught me from the smallest things like walking, running, using chopsticks and everything in this life. Those are sincere teachings which are not flowery but are always etched in my mind. Although my family did not have the same conditions as the others, my mother never let me lose to my friends. My mother used to work as a hired laborer and traded her health to earn money.Everyday she is cursed by her owner but she faced those moments by her strong desire to achieve the good things. Just thinking that way is enough to see how hard she's trying. Probably, There is no hard work that she has never done but my mother has never complained even once. Mom always worries and cares for me wherever I go. But perhaps those wonderful things gradually disappeared for me because she got a goiter not long ago. This evil goiter has been hanging on my mother for almost a year. Her health is slowly deteriorating. If life was a time train, I would like to go back to a time when my mother was healthy, still cooking delicious meals everyday, admonishing and nagging me everyday. If I have one wish, I wish the goiter was in me, not my mother. She endured two-thirds of her life. Let her be happy and healthy for the rest of her life. That's the only thing I want right now. For me, I always cherish every moment of being with my mother. Those are moments that even materially cannot be bought later. Remember, when you had a mom who always waited for you to come home from school to cook you delicious meals, someone who was always waiting to wash you each shirt, always complaining about what you did wrong then you are richer than you thought. I hope you appreciate it. And finally I want to tell my mother that:" This essay is a gift I would like to give you. I love you so much and I hope for a miracle to come and regain your health"
